Abstract

A significant number of children with nocturnal enuresis also experience daytime urinary incontinence. They suffer from issues related to bladder emptying, voiding postponement, urgency, and frequency. In these children with non-monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis, the standard treatment is not successful and further diagnosis of comorbid disordersis necessary. Bladder function should be assessed and a psychological examination undertaken. In many children, dysfunctional voiding has a physiological cause, but at the same time, a significant number of them have comorbid psychological difficulties. Particularly in these children, a multidisciplinary approach with a psychologist as part of the team is essential.

Key words: voiding, children, non-monosymptomatic enuresis, dysfunctional voiding, psychological comorbidities.
