Abstract

Precocious puberty is the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics before the age of 8 years in girls and 9 years in boys. Central and peripheral precocious puberty are distinguished. In boys, precocious puberty often has an organic cause; therefore we decided to present two cases of precocious puberty in boys. The firstcase report is of a three-year-old boy with peripheral precocious puberty caused by adrenocortical carcinoma. The second case report presents a 15-month-old boy with central precocious puberty. Among the possible causes of central precocious puberty in this boy is a Rathke’s cleft cyst.

Key words: precocious puberty, boys, adrenocortical carcinoma, Rathke‘s cleft cyst.
