Abstract
Children with chronic illnesses and their families are at risk for adverse psychological problems that may interfere with treatment and have a negative influence on the illness itself. In the article, the impact of chronic illness on the child and his family’s functioning, is described. The article also presents psychological interventions, which can assist children and their families to cope with chronic illness.
