Abstract
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis is the most common chronic rheumatic disease in childhood. The polyarticular subtype is defined as arthritis involving five or more joints. The diagnosis is clinical and based on the exclusion of arthritis of known etiology. A case of a 16 year old patient with a polyarticular form of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (jIA), who was diagnosed rather late in the disease course and developed irreversible joint damage, is presented.
