Abstract

Leg pain and limping can also be a clinical manifestation of malignant diseases in a child. Apart from limping, nocturnal pain and pain at rest in a child with leukaemia, lymphoma, neuroblastoma or bone sarcomas, frequently we also see systemic signs and symptoms (fever, night sweats, weight loss). The presence of these signs and symptoms requires careful consideration as this could indicate a malignant disease. This paper presents the case of a 3.5 year old boy with limping and hip pain as an initial clinical manifestation of neuroblastoma with bone and bone marrow metastasis. Through the clinical case basic features of neuroblastoma are also presented.
