Abstract

Hip epiphysiolysis or slipped capital femoral epiphysis is the most common disorder of the hip in adolescents. Diagnosis is often delayed, resulting in progression of the slip and thus more serious joint deformity. This paper presents retrospective analysis of patiets with hip epiphysiolysis who have been examined at the Ljubljana Orthopaedic Clinic between 1.1.2014 and 1.7.2019. we were primarily interested in the time needed for diagnosis and appropriate surgical treatment. we present a clinical case of a thirteen-year-old boy with delayed diagnosis of hip epiphysiolysis who had isolated, transferred knee pain. In the discussion, we compare our results and clinical case with those of other studies. we also point out the factors that influence the delayed diagnosis.
