Abstract
Most cases of acute poisoning do not leave somatic consequences. Despite this, they represent a sufciently large problem with regard to incidence and they are an important reason for hospitalization. With appropriate preventative measures it would be possible to reduce the frequency of accidental poisoning. If poisoning occurs, it is very important to act quickly and initiate the correct treatment immediately after the poisoning, before the poison is absorbed. During hospitalization, it is very important that the nursing sister is able to communicate appropriately and establish contact, allowing the ow of ideas, opinions, or information.
