Abstract
Limping is a common reason for a child to visit a paediatrician and has a very wide differential diagnosis. Although most cases are benign and clear up on their own, conditions that may be life threatening or treatable to prevent or reduce joint damage have to be ruled out. In the following article a systematic approach to diagnosis, the importance of a good patient history and clinical examination, the usefulness of laboratory and other tests are presented.
